Christian Galicia | Architect - M.Urbanism

As Founder and Principal of Border Arquitectos, he leads projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and master planning sectors, focusing on the intersection between design, development strategy, and the opportunities embedded within complex urban environments.

Architect and urban designer based in the Tijuana – San Diego border region. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana and a Master's degree in Advanced Architecture and Urbanism from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (ETSAB) in Barcelona.

He is a licensed architect in Mexico, a registered and an International Associate of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), reflecting a professional practice grounded in international standards of design, technical excellence, and project delivery.

His work explores how architecture can respond to market conditions, planning policies, and the evolving dynamics of the border region. Through research, feasibility analysis, and project execution, the practice develops solutions that balance architectural ambition with long-term value and implementation.

His trajectory includes participation in the RCR Architecture & Landscape Workshop led by Pritzker Prize-winning RCR Arquitectes, recognized by ETSAB Barcelona, as well as the Young Creators Fellowship awarded by Mexico’s National System for Support of Artistic Creation and Cultural Projects (SACPC) for the research project Borderland: The Beauty of Informality, which examined the role of spontaneous architecture in shaping urban identity.

Architecture Beyond Boundaries.

The border is not where things end. It is where they begin.

Border is a research-driven architecture practice working across territories, cultures, and disciplines.

Our work is grounded in observation, shaped by context, and realized through design and construction.

We believe architecture is not an object, but a response.

Every project begins with a question.
